Celebrating Daddy's BIG 40

Since Jonathan's actual birthday was the day of craziness (and Pop had to work), we decided to have our family celebration on December 20 instead of the date of his actual birthday, December 17.  (Plus I needed to make his birthday cake, carrot cake with cream cheese icing in the shape of a Christmas tree...shhh!)

We enjoyed a yummy dinner of homemade chicken fried steak, made-from-scratch sawmill gravy, seasoned collards (thank you Ol' Glory!), steamed brown rice and homemade applesauce.  Afterwards, Jonathan opened his presents with the help of two little ones.  Then the candles were lit, the birthday song was sung and two little ones helped their Daddy blow out his candles.  The cake was delicious, the family time was memorable, it was a good time indeed!

Happy 4-0, Jonathan!  You look not a day over 25 and I look forward to spending the next 40, 50, 60 plus by your side!
