When Halloween falls on a Sunday in the South, trick-or-treating can be a bit "tricky". (Ha, Ha! Pun completely intended!) As a child, if Halloween happened to fall on a Sunday, ToT'ing was moved to Saturday. Since we reside in a small town in the south, that trend still holds true today. So our family enjoyed some Halloween festivities on Saturday.
We participated in our church's Halloween Social which was built around the town's Halloween activities. It was a wild afternoon followed up with a fun, yet crazy evening. Unfortunately, none of our pictures of that evening or ToT'ing turned out very well. But don't fear, dear readers! I came up with a solution...
On Sunday (the true Halloween), I decided to recruit some help from Meems and have a Halloween costume photo session at the house. The kids were still suffering from colds (that we are still dealing with today...a week later...grrrr!) so we had to use a bit of bribery to get them back in their costumes for a few pictures. (Nothing can entice a toddler to cooperate better than the offer of a few M&Ms...)
They were so thrilled about the M&Ms, that we even got Isaac to wear his train engineer's cap (sewed by Meems and Mommy) and Kathryn to wear her butterfly antennae (created by Mommy)! Oh how I heart homemade costumes...and the magic of M&Ms...
